My 1994 GL1500SE used to have a small blue light at the tip of the CB antenna that would come on whenever I keyed the mike. Somehow, I lost it a while back.
Does anyone know where I can purchase a replacement?
any of the small neon bulbs (Ne-2) will light like that -- mount em to the antenna with clear shrink tube (most of the "kits" will come with tygone or clear fish-tube.)
One wire needs to touch the antenna tip for best results (cut off the other wire at the bulb-base). The bulb relies on the tip being the "hottest" power point to light - so checking your SWRs after installation will help assure that your radio is happy and the lamp will light as desired.
It was probably aftermarket. The one I had was a coil of wire that had what looked like an LED (blue) attached at one end of the coil and at a tap near the other end. Above the LED was what looked like a chrome cone to reflect the light 360 degrees.
