Hello all, I have an 89 GL1500 and the CB radio issues that I am having are this.
It works fine most of the time but now and then it wont transmit. I can receive and when I hit the transmit button it doesnt display the TX in the window and the passengers doesnt work at that time either. Then sometimes it will start working about 5 or 15 minutes later....

Any ideas? Thanks....

Have you cleaned your switches(PTT) yet? Spray electrical contact cleaner in beside the switches and work them and spray some more, let dry a few minutes before trying out with power. (All switches need cleaning yearly on these bikes to keep them working)

Check to see if the channels lock up when it won't transmit. In other words, it won't transmit or change channels. mine did this and it was a bad capacitor. sent it to sierra electronics. now it works like new.
