I have 97 GL1500 with overheat problem and was digging into the thermostat when I found a rotted plastic bypass hose connector. One hose was loose coming from the stat housing. Anyone else have this? I'm going to use an automotive 3 way x 3/8 connectorto fix.

I seen this on my last WIng, a 1996 aspencade. My brother was able to use a threaded one from a small Honda car and he tapped the stat casing to make it work. Some plummers white tape on the threads and it never leaked again.

It turned out the stat was bad/broken also. I am replacing stat, 2 small hoses and that 3 way connector with OEM. The old hoses had the corroded pieces inside hose and I couldn't dig them out.
