I was wondering if anyone knows if an engine out of a 1998 1500 will fit a 1993 1500A. The engine in my 93 is tired and needs a lot of work to bring it back. The new engine has around 50,000 mile on it, nothing for a goldwing. I think the engine will mount in ok, I was just wondering what kind of wiring issues I may run into. Thanks

Yes it will fit, there are some differences in the vacuum lines and maybe in the water piping, IE; are they both California motors or not. The PAR system has been bypassed by others. wiring should not be a problem.
There are some posts on this but i wasn't able to find them in a search.

My wing has about 200,000 miles on it now. It still runs but I have been experiencing problems that never used to occur. Too many to list. It also needs a new clutch and maybe a new trans. I bought the bike used with 60,000 miles on it. Not sure how it was maintained before that. It has been good to me but if I put a lot of work back into it I would like to start with a lower mileage motor and trans.
