What is a good aftermarket exhaust for an 1989 GL1500. It still has the original mufflers on the bike, and the left one has a hole that you can stick your thumb in, located on the underside of the muffler below the mount tab.

There is a good selection available. The Cobra system looks really good and the TorqMasters look good and have awesome sound. That's just two examples that I've had experience with myself.

Motad do the mufflers on their own, ie you don't need to buy the downpipes as well unless you really need them. The Motads are stainless so should last ages, but yu need to polish them often as the stainless gos a bit yellow.

The Motads are good but they sure can't be accused of being cheap! Cobras are a good compromise.
