Thinking of doing a fork overhaul and wanted to know what new bits I should buy to do the job properly. I have the following in mind but have I missed anything please ?

2 off 51490-MN8-305Seal set, FR. Fork
2 off51412-MB4-003Ring, backup
2 off 51414-MN5-003Bush, guide
2 off51415-MN5-003Bush, slider

That is without doing the anti dive units, unless it is thought better to do them at the same time ?

For $85 bux you can get a set of Progressive springs to put in the slides.

That will make for an excellent upgrade. You will wonder how you got along with them.

Hi AZgl1500 . thanks for your suggestion.

Have already bought an almost new pair of stock springs (10k miles) as we tried progressive springs some time back and they were not to our liking.

You have it all covered Ron. Seals, bushes and backup rings are all you need. The AD on the GL1500 models rarely give problems and I'd say leave it alone.

The bolt and washer at the bottom of the fork(under the axle) may cause you problems, it may be best to have 2 of both just in case. And maybe the O ring under the top cap.

Ron I just finished rebuilding mine this weekend. You have all the parts covered as you listed. I would also get the o rings for the top caps. Mine were in bad shape.
