I've had my GL1500 for two years now and between "repairing" the work done by the PO and some really crappy weather i've only gotten to put 250 miles on the bike (still some "repairs" to do..... work in progress)

This is my first 1500 having had 3 1100's before it (one of which i still have).

This brings me to my observation.....

Maybe a really dumb question but does anyone know why the GL1500 fronk forks aren't air assited (and why only one rear shock is) ?

Following on from that question..... could i put a couple of schrader valves in the caps and pressurise the front forks to 1 1/2 atm ?

Or is it just the weight that might turn the caps into projectiles?

It just seems daft to change a set-up that had worked so wel for 7 - 8 years for something less.

Or am i missing the point?

Dave.

Damn, how silly of me...... It's a 1989.

No connecting hose, nothing. Haven't come across anything in the manuals either.
