GL1500 fuel pump

put seafom in, wouldn't idle, unless choke was on. ran at 70 mph fine, then ran on all 6 after 100 miles, noticed fuel filter was half full so i opened gas cap for awhile.filter started to fill up,then it ran fine for 75 miles,then it started again, ran at 70 mph, but felt it missing. slowed down , had to have choke on so it would keep running, so im wondering if pump is on its way out. 149,000 miles on it. im going to change gas filter, but this has happened before. isnt there a car fuel pump that fits the 1500's also when its warm, fans running, it nocks like its pinging, so im wondering if the pump is not pumping enough, thus running lean.
