I am looking to purchase a radio from a 94 GL1500 SE, and was wondering if anyone knows if this will fit my GL1500 interstate.

Thanks Jeff

Hi Jeff. We had this question before on the old forum and it tyrns out that the wiring in not there in the Interstateto accept the radio from the SE or ASP. Also of course the LCD display isn't there either.

Hi Jeff and welcome. Eamonn is right, the wiring harness and cxonnectors are not in place. In some ways the Interstate is better, because you can use the auxiliary connector to plug in an MP3 player etc. MP3 is the way to go with this.

Ok well I allready have an after market radio under the left side clove box cover, thought maybe that the wires from it would work. Just seems so bare in the middle where the consloe radio should go. By the way if you can't tell this is my first wing.

Safe riding on your first Wing wishbone413, the lads are right about the wires not being there for the SE radio. Honda cheapskating as usual.

Hi Jeff,

I would not make any hasty decisions about wiring up an aftermarket. Seems there are always ones for sale on Ebay. Of course, as of this writing, there are currently only 2 AM/FM cassette units. Be patient, as an AM/FM unit will surely show up soon.
