GL1500, Mp3 or Ipod Question

I have a 93 1500se.
In the Maintenance book it says there is a aux plug under the left upper clove box. So I removed the box to get inside the fairing and look for the aux plug.
The book shows it is wired right into the wiring lume by a wire tie. You just undo the wire tie and pull the aux plug out.
The aux plug plugs into any Ipod,mp3 player or Cd players ear plug and will play threw the system on the bike.
I checked my bike and there is not one there.

So the question is this: On the SE did they leave it out??

Thanks Kurt

I think that was only on the Interstate model.
Ditto on the above.

A simple mod will give that capability.

What is so much better with the audio input modification I keep seeing on here. You still have to put a dummy tape in the player, so why not just use the cassette adapter with the input cord attached.

The player is hard wired into radio amp via the patch cord with no other parts besides a switch.

Reread the mod, no tape required.

So you did this mod to your Radio yourself??

At the moment I'm running the tape in the player with the plug in cord.

I just finish doing my radio tonite all by myself cant wait till tomorow nite to get out and test it its too cold out. I did the aux mod plus replace all the light by LED's

Did everything except for the soldering which a friend of mine did. The reason he did it was his bench is set-up for electronic and he is twice as good soldering than me. My bench is set-up for heavier mechanical work which I do for him and am twice as good at that.:)

I did it to 2 1500 goldwings. I tryed the cassette with the plug on it, just didnt sound as good. Of course if you new at soldering and taking things apart, would suggest for you to find someone to do it for you. I think you like it a lots better.
