Just bought a 1990 GL1500 brought it home, it had been sitting in an open garage and had about 1/2 of dust on it. After I washed it, and I had to give it a good bath. Went to start it to pull over next to garage to get it dried and it would not start. It would spin over and as you would release the start button it would hit. Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes and it was fine. Any ideas? Would hate to be out in big rain and bike quit.

Bike has new battery in it. It spins over fine. Rode to work today iin rain, No problem. It was in the back of my mind though. Not going to get excited unless it happens again. Would have to be a major rain to get the bike as wet as it was when I washed it. It is hard to wash off 1/2 inch of dust and dirt.
