GL1500 Oil Pressure

I have a 1500 GL wing and the self adjusting valve lifters are maxing out and keeping the valves slightly open therefore reducing compression.
I have removed them and emptied the oil from them which works great for about a month but then they start maxing out again (Does anyone have any ideas why)

Are you using 10/40 oil and sure you have not overfilled? The dipstick on 1500s can be a pain in the backside to get the right reading.
How many miles has the bike done and has it been sitting for a long period before you got it?

I would try draining a few ouces of oil out just before next oil change, and add the same amount of marvel Mystery oil, or Seafom to the oil again and ride about 75 miles, then drain oil and put fresh oil in. See if that helps.
