I tried to purchase the after market radiator cap from NAPA and other autoparts stores, but they all tell me those caps (Stater/NAPA) are discontinued. Does anyone know where I can purchase one in the Chicago area? The Honda stealerships now want $30.00 for one, whereas the aftermarket caps were approx. 6-8 dollars.

Let's see, in your effort to save $22 (30-8), you drove/rode all over town and probably spent that savings already, not to mention your time.

Seems like you'd do better to just buy the Honda cap at this point.

im hoping you are replacing a defeftive one. dealer says its my thermostat that causes my 1500 to boil in slow traffic but cool down again when moving. im not convinced (he was wrong about my faulty bank angke sensor and wanted to replace the ignition switch). could a faulty rad cap do that... im thinking staying shut til its forced open but then not closing off properly or would that just mean it boils straight away?
