The mute is displayed on the radio but does not go off when the button is depressed on the handle bar.It sometimes goes off by itself and the radio function until the mute comes on again - this is done with any driver input.I have tried putting WD-40 on the mute button and it seem to have worked for a while but it is of no help now. I think the unit needs to be taken apart or replaced, can someone give me some directions on the matter?

use electrical contact cleaner, the wd40 will attract dust and make it worse.
I have even used brake cleaner, but don't get any on the plastics.

Thanks I read the links, if the electrical contact cleaner does not work I will go to the next step.
