I am in the process of trying to find a vacuum leak (causing a slight backfire on over-run) on the left side of my GL1500. I need to remove the left hand fairing but the reverse lever is preventing me from doing so. How do I remove the lever please ?

Pull the rubber part of the handle back from over the shaft, and remove the #6 hex screw. If it has a chrome cover on the lever, it will slide off.:)

I usually pull the reverse handle up and remove the screw with a T-40 torx bit. Make sure that when putting it back in, there is a rod attached to the base that must fit in to a hole before tightening it back up. You will se what I mean once you take it off.
