I have a set of saddlebags from GL1500 and the latch lever inside has become disconnected from the rear latch. The rear latch is indeed latched, but the front is not. Anyone have an idea how to get it open? These are not mounted on a bike, but are mounted on a cut off frame from a trike installation.

Thanks for all the tips and tricks thus far. This is surely a great place to gather information.

If you remove the skirting beneath the tail trunk and look carefully... there is a little mushroom headed pin sticking up out of the saddle bag. If you push that down it should unlock the saddle bag. (I;m working from memory here...)
