If you should decide to upgrade, there are plenty of custom seat debates here on the forum. I was lucky enough to find a mint condition Corbin Leather Custom Seat with the back rest. Once you break the Corbin in, you can't believe how much it changes the bike and I would be willing to bet that the profile is also much lower than the stock seat. I watched fleabay for quite a while and finally found what I was looking for used at almost half the price of a new one. Also thechoice between leather and vinyl is really a personal thing. Both seats have stiching and water will eventually soak through those seams. I triple treated my seat with spray silicone water proofing like you use on hunting boots and then followed that with quality leather creams that soften the hide and also amplifies that "Saddle Leather Smell" which I simply love. It totally changed my 95 Aspy and consider it a fantastic upgrade.
