Anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to remove starter on GL1500? Also, where would be the best place to find a replacement starter?

They come up on ebay reasonably often and probably because these starters are so reliable that there is no demand for them. I never removed one so I don't know how easy or hard they are to pull.

The best way is to remove the battery and the battery tray. This will give you access to get your tools to the bolts holding the starter on. It's still not easy but it's the only way to get to the starter

When i removed one i found it quite easy battery and carrier out then just the starter bolts top one is a bit of a pig to get at buton the whole simple enough to do brushes stick so remove the end plate and see if it needs them early starters have two wires later ones just the one
