Look in the reference section on sticking switches. I use electrical contact cleaner. It works longer. You can get elec CC and lube at radio shack. Protect the painted surfaces.
Here is an excellent tutorial on how to get the sticky handlebar switches working again. It is on another forum that is owned by one of our members here (GSMacLean).
The only recommendation I'd add to Gene's excellent tutorial is to use Radio Shack's cleaner/lubricant. WD is good for a while but doesn't really leave much in the way of lubricant behind. The Radio Shack stuff is designed for this problem.
