I was stuck in a massive rain storm on my 97 1500, while waiting to cross the boarder. After the rain, I find I have no fuel gauge, no reverse and no oil light. (Not sure about the low fuel light, haven't gone that low). All fuses seem to be ok? Any ideas?

Has the battery died? Radio not working too? What is you voltage? Batteries are known to get internal shorts.

Did you check the dog bone fuse to the right of the battery? There is a spare in the cover. You may not see the minute cracks in it.

Did it die while idling or did this occur when you went to restart after the rain storm waiting? Were you sitting with the key on?

Did you have head light and tail lights?

Did you have the LCD screen display or was it blank?

Do you have lights on your saddlebags and if so are they on or off..I have see all of these indications happen due to a loose or failed relay. If you have the fuse/relay panel ...check relay #7..jiggle it or remove clean and reinstall!

It did this while trying to re-start.

All headlights, tail lights and saddlebag lights work fine. Every once in awhile (when it is raining I do loose the LCD screen but it is working fine at this point.

As for reverse, it is the reverse that does not work.

I will dig in and try the wish bone fuse, white connector and the relay tomorrow (I take it it is in the box behind the fuses? Do I need to loosen off the saddlebag to get at those relays?)
