My 96 gl 1500 se has some hesitation out of idle after sitting the winter.
I ran Stabal additive as part of winterizing.
The Bike started great and idles smoothly.
But between 1000 and 2500 it hesitates and stumbles
I read that this is the site for the answers

Thanks Ken

try running it very low on fuel then add a half a can of Seafoam and fill it up, it may take a couple of tanks but from what you describe it should do the trick. I hate Stabil after a Year in the garage my bottle got some big sediments floating around in the bottom and I had to toss it, I just use a little marvel mystery oil and Seafoam to store my bike now. And welcome to the forum.

One or both carb slides may be dirty or gummed up and sticking. Pull the air filter and give the slides a VERY short blast of carb cleaner spray, then work the slide with a finger.
Follow up with a short blast of WD40 to lube the slide.
Button up and re test.
Worked for me.

...work the slide with a finger...
> Only move it a slight amount (~3/4")... If you go to the end of it's travel, then I hear that the diaphram may become damaged.
