Does anyone have a recommendation on what brand of timing belt to buy? Napa and Gates both make the belts as well as Honda. Any recommendations are welcome.

NAPA#250-275 :shock:

Gates#T275. :shock:

Honda# 14401-MN5-004 :gunhead:

I think the Napas are made by Gates anyway.
NAPA contracts out for parts, but right now at the NAPA store near me the supplier of belts which fit the 1200 and 1500 is indeed Gates. I don't think you can get better, an old Huges 269 helicopter I took instruction in had seven Gates belts that connected the engine and transmission. If it was good enough for that, it's good enough for me!

Got this from the tips section of the site;

GL1500 Timing Belts. From May 2001, Gates have been supplying the T275 timing belt for the GL1500.[/b] Also available is the Napa 250275.

The wingnut is right, 250070 for the 1200 and Napa 250275 for the 1500. That means the belts for the 1200 and 1500 are different. the only two Goldwings that share the same belts are the gl1100 and gl1000.

Of course the Wingnut is right, after providing this website even if he was wrong he'd be right!:goofygrin:

Amen to that Paul. Redwing must be getting worried. Your post count is suddenly near the 900 mark. I think there is a prize for 1000, I wonder what Redwing got for his 1000th? :clapper:
