I had a hitch made for my 1500 & instead of welding anything to the bike to hold it on, it's got 4 bolt holes to line up with the 4 holes that are already on the hitch frame which is already on the bike. As long as they are tightened right up, do you think those 4 bolts will be enough (other than the safety chains), to secure the hitch frame?

If not, what do u suggest? I was thinking of putting a rod all the way between 2 of these bolt holes with cauter pins on either end to make sure it doesn't come loose, but not sure if that's needed or not.

Just looking for some advice here.

Thank you.

Are you talking about the holes that the saddlebags bolt to? If not, can you post a picture of where you want to mount it to?

Sorry..yes, I believe that's the bar I wish to mount the hitch to..the bar (looks like kind of a big horseshoe) that the bags mount onto.
