Hi all,

Was getting to finalize everything for inspection. Again, its my 88 GL1500 with 200 original miles. With this history (or lack of), I never expected an electrical "issue".

Started bike today to check everything out. Well, out of the blue, headlights were not working. All other lights were fine. My guess was a fuse.

Checked fuse and it was shot. Not burnt, just broken. Replaced fuse, and checked headlights. One works and one does not. My assumption is that something went afoul with the one light, causing the fuse to blow. Any suggestions or guidance.

While looking for replacement lamps, I see that H4 45/45W is standard. I also see that 65/55 is recommended. What would you all recommend for an 88.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't understand that, I thought one fuse worked both headlight bulbs? I think you just need a new headlight bulb.

The same fuse works both headlight bulbs. Pull the headlight and check the bulbs, one might have blown. And yeah, most of us run on 55/60w or 55/65w bulbs.
