I have a 1998 1500, 39.000 Miles, I replaced my alternator this spring because it quit charging. Before it quit I had this noise around 2000 rpm or so.
After replacing I still have this noise. I thought it was the bearing in the Alt. If you are under a load it is bad, if just running up the rpms it is not real loud.
If you let off the gas and coast , the sound quits. Only around 2000 or higher you heard this.
What other bearing could be making this noise?
