Its a 1999 GL1500SE. Front speaker was blown out, so replacing with the Polks. Have the instrument panel off and new speakers attached. However, when I have the ignition switch on "Acc", the radio plays fine. As soon as I switch it to "on", the radio goes off. I get a display of the channel, but no sound. What's happening?

Thanks for response. Got it figured out and its VERY simple. I also worked on the headlights and apparently drained the battery. When I switched to "on", the drain from the headlights caused a voltage drop big enough to turn off the radio. When I charged the battery, it worked fine. Its never easy......

Ah well, you found it at least.
The radio going out while riding like that is an indicator, and then the LCD gauges flashing of the battery volts too low.
