Try spraying some contact cleaner in beside the button while working it. Try pushing in on the button and letting your finger slide off so it would pop out if it releases. Got mine to work doing that.

i did get it to release but had to take it apart. I think i will take it to my dealer as it hould be under warrenty. I had it on yesterday for a toys for tots ride. thank you for the info.

this is my 5th 1800 had no problems with the other 4 i'm takeing it up to the dealer tomorrow. i had to take the panre your eal off to get it out. thanks for your feed back.

Have struggled with this issue, despite cleaning, slight lubing, etc. I eventually changed it out for a rocker switch. So much easier, a pain in the ass to install but much better now.
