I am new on this site so bear with me, I own a 2003 goldwinf with 85000 miles, I bougth it 4 months ago, I only started to noyice a ( grinding noise) when the bike went under load ( up hill).

I figured out if I put the bike on the center stand and ref it up to 2500 rpm it starting to greate that kind of noise, it is very hard to tell where it comes from.

I boughtan stethoscoop and pionted it at the rear of thealternator a very sreaming noise came from that end,

I also pionted it at the ADG housing not much noise from that end, could this be a bearing issue......sure hope so and not the ADG.

any responds would be apreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the forum Syb
Sounds like alternator bearings. Replace the brushes too while in there.
