I've changed air filters on first generation GL1800s but never on a second generation with an air bag. Is the job much harder and are any special tools needed?

Is there anything else that may be more difficult to maintain on the later models? I recently had an GL1800 A6 and regret selling it and am now looking at either a 2013 or 2015 model.

The 2012 up AB models require a few more steps for AF change.

Because the 2012 models now all have Multi piece Shelters. (More steps to remove)
06-10 had a one piece shelter.

When working on any Air bag equipped bike.(Be safe) Disconnect the Battery-Until you are finished what you are working on!!

The Air Bag doesn't have to be touched to get to the air filter.

Thanks Suncrest, doesn't sound too bad a job. I'll go and have a look at the second generation ones out there for sale.
