Can someone please tell me what the trick is to removing the Weighted Bar Ends on a GL1800? I cannot seem to be able to break them loose by holding the end and loosening the phillips head screw. Any help appreciated I am trying to put on a set of chrome ends.

Try not holding the end and let it come off with the screw.

The problem I am having is I cannot get the screw to come loose at all. I do not know what it was tightened with but it must have been an impact gun. The only thing I can think of is to hold it and try to loosen the screw if I do not hold it the entire end moves but does not back out.

The screw goes into a rubber plug with a metal insert, maybe you can pull the whole thing out of the bar.

Got them off this evening after work. Took black tape and wrapped them up used a pair of channel locks and a screwdriver and really had to muscle them to get em to break loose. They are off and the new ones on Thanks to all for the help and suggestions.:)
