the main thing about the Goldwings, is that if timely maintenance has been done, the engines will run forever w/o ever taking a head off, just occasional valve clearances, and the time schedule for that is shorter than needed.

my 2002 has 114,000 miles and still runs like the day it left the showroom floor.

you do realize, that Amsoil is death to motorcycles 👀 :) 🛵
Why?

====================

Apparently the Emoticons did not mean anything to you.

it is a joke, all Oil Discussions end up with 1,000s of opinions on which oil is the best.

in such discussions, my first statement is " The one that tastes the best "

Amsoil has a lot of good history, continue using it.
to all of us, the brand we use, is the one "we like best"

.

yup, been there in Phoenix riding to/from work at 110* and it is no fun at all.
well remember the morning that I woke up, showered, looked out on the patio at the big huge 12" diameter Heat-O-Meter sundial,
and it was sitting on 111* and that is in the cool hours before the sun peaks over the horizon to start the day.

that is IF, the FI light comes on, you must read the Flashes to determine what the error is about.
as of today, if you find a 2002 that is running, with no error codes, it will be just fine.... price it low and complain about the ECM problem, and grin because you know it is NOT likely to ever break by now.

on my 2002, the ECM was showing a knock sensor error.
DaveO430 swapped the sensors and the error remained the same.

It ran just fine, just that the MPG was worse than other 1800s at the time.

I found a 2004 Goldwing wrecked, the engine survived, the forks did not.

I bought the ECM and horns, installed the ECM and all was well, that was many years ago, and it is still running just fine.
