There are three versions or generations of the 1800.
2001-2010 made in USA
2011-2017 made in Japan
2018-2020 New design 2021- larger luggage

The 01-05 are different from the 06-10. 06+ has a larger alternator, larger radiators, upgraded sound system, navigation and air bag optional, upgraded alternator drive, optional heated seat, grips & foot warmers, more visible tail lights & some items easier to get to. There is no 2011 Goldwing. Also the 09-2010 came with tire pressure sensors (could be called good or bad).

Whoever had that didn't need a motorcycle. I have done that many miles in a single year.

I like to do what I am capable of doing myself, but I hope anything major wont be an issue. That would be a proverbial 'bummer' - That's a major factor why I want to grab a GoldWing... (Reputation for reliability)

Yes they are reliable but maintenance still needs to be done. A lot of people harp on the 1800s being hard to change the air filter on but I would do 2 of those to 1 rear tire on a 1500 any day and I run the air filters 50,000 miles.

. I also got a bunch of Kuryakyn bling that has never been installed. I am not sure if I will use the bling. Kinda not my thing really, but the added goodies was really cool.

When I see a Goldwing with a bunch of bling on it I almost puke. They look good without it & it detracts from the value if you're trying to sell it. Sell that junk.
