Hi out there in Goldwing land. Got a problem and wondered if anyone can offer advice. The brake lights to my GL1800 are stuck permanently on. Have cleaned and checked operation of switch to rear brake but not sure where to go from there.

The 1800 elec. system is quite complex , suggest you follow the service manuals check out .
If you dont have a service manual for your 1800 you are in for a world of hurt as they are to complex for the standard backyard checks .

you didn't mention looking at the front brake switch...

This is for all the others who may have this problem in the future. Take off the right side cover and look at the master rear brake assembly. You will see just above this part a spring and a slightly bent flat part. That part will be pushed in and touching the frame.* It is easy to do*
Just move that flat slightly bent part away from the frame and all lights will work correctly.

I did this once myself and just retraced my steps to locate the problem. For those who have a GW service manual the part is on page 16-21
