Gidday folks. While out riding last weekend I found that the cruise control on my 2012 GL1800 wouldn't work sometimes. It was a pain in the neck because I really use it a lot on our long straight roads. I heard from a wing owner who came through town that it had occurred on a bike the he had owned but he got distracted by a girl before he could tell me the fix. It'll be a warranty job but I'd really like to know if anyone knows about this problem and if there is a generic fix. It might save the mechanic from having my bike for longer than necessary or even doing more harm than good. He doesn't get a lot of practice on wings out where we live.

Cheers,
Mark

Did you put on Aftermarket brake and clutch levers? Or still stock levers?

Check the rear brake pedal switches. Remove the right engine cover and listen carefully as you slowly push the pedal down, there should be 2 distinct clicks of the micro switches on the master cylinder push rod. Easy to see how to adjust them if you don't hear 2 clicks or if one clicks with barely any pressure on the pedal.
