can anyone tell me how much fork oil goes in the 2010 1800. i decided that i would try puting 15 wt in the forks before i do the springs, and bearings just because its raining and i have a lot of time. i drained about a cup and a half from the left side and a couple ounce from the right. i don't think thats right. oh yeah how do you get the cap off the right side. it appears to be fastened to a rod that goes down the tube. :?:praying:

Used to be 10W was standard for all fork oil, and most people used ATF, because it is basically 10W hydraulic oil. I had an old Silverwing years ago that the fork seals leaked so bad on that all the fluid came out after a few days. Rather than fixing the seals, because I didn't plan to keep it much longer anyway, I put 140W gear oil in the forks. That did not leak out. It was too thick to leak past the worn seals. It made the forks pretty stiff, but lasted until I sold it.
