Looking for help

Installed a new CB unit in my 2008 Goldwing, everything appeared to go the best kind and though it took longer than I had expected there appeared to be no issues. That was a week ago, then I was called away.

Last night I started bike the best kind and moved it a short distance.

Tonight I went to start the bike and it would turn over but would not catch. I did notice when the instrument panel came it it gave an error message " CB error" that is all it said and nothing more. Tired to start the bike several time suntil battery was too low.

Any ideas what might be wrong. It was a Honda CB kit so it was all plug in components and I can't see the CB draining down the battery or affecting the ignition and as I said I diod start the bike the night before. So have battery currently on charge and will try it again wheh I have full battery..other than that any ideas what might have been cause of my problems.

Thanks

Tom

I recommend you post your question over in the technical section. Most of the gurus won't see it over here.

Welcome to the forum. Did the CB work after you fitted it, before the error? If not you may have plugged one of the connectors under the saddle in wrong. There are two almost identical ones, you can see it in the CB fitting page in the "workshop" part of this site.

But first, disconnect the battery for a few minutes. When you reconnect, the CB error may have cleared up.

The no-start might simply be a slight flooding, try starting it after you reconnnect the battery.
