GL1800 Hesitation between 1500-2000 RPMs

My 05 GL1800 has 117K miles and has recently started to develop a hesitation and loss of powerat around 1700 RPMs during slow acceleration. At around 2000 RPM the engine goes back to a normal feeling of power. This plays havoc when starting out in a slow tight turn and the bike suddenly loses power and wants to fall then suddenly wants to stand back up again. Any ideas?

also have the tpi sensor tested and cleaned. thats the throttle position sensor.
