GL1800 Oil, HP4 to GN4?

I recently purchased an 2001 1800 Wing with 25000 miles that has used nothing but Honda HP4. Is it necessary to stick with this or can I switch to the Honda GN4. Could this damage the engine?

It's OK to switch oil to a different brand or part number at anytime. As long as it is the right weight oil for the engine.
