Would just like some insight into Amsoil for my 1800.

How do you rate it and what should I be using.

Any advise would be great.

One of the biggest problems with motor oil is the way it becomes corrosive [acids] after combustion in the chamber [hydrocarbons].

This makes 'intervals' more important than miles. This does not negate excessive miles, though.

Oil & filter should be changed every 90 days, regardless of mileage. Also, 3000 miles makes for much acidic content for engine parts to soak in.

Remember high school chemistry: Hydrogen mix = Acid.

Think about water[ H[suB]2[/suB]0] actually "oxic acid" = 2 parts Hydrogen & 1 part Oxygen ...mostly harmless during short-term, but eats through steel with long term exposure.

Then figure right oil to use for use& climate.
