I was just out at the Honda dealer today and they had 11 new 05 Wings sitting on the floor and every one of them were priced at 17,996

I still choke at the thought of spending 18,000 for a bike.

Base price here is right on $30,000 Cdn / $24,400 US. We have to add 14 per cent in taxes, too. I spec'd one online and with some options, a new 'Wing would run $34,000 Cdn. / $27,650 US plus 14 per cent - total here of $38,760 or $31,500 US. I'm afraid I'll have to wait and win the lottery first. Besides which, I really like my 1984 GL1200A so am in no rush to change.

Currently about $34,500 in Ireland. We had this topic before and Denmark was the most expensive, a new GL1800 costing an outrageous $70,000! :shock:

Not much in comparison, but I paid $5k for an '85 1200 Aspencade with a matching trailer about three months ago.

I think beer is cheap in Denmark, cars and motorbikes not. Finland, Sweden and especially Norway is famous about expensive beer.

Why does it cost this much.Is it your import tax. Looks like smuggleing goldwings would be very profitable.

Some guys in Ireland import their :18red:and :15red:from the states and save thousands of euros. :banana:wingnut, wexman, and medic1 are three on this forum who have done this. :clapper:They still have to pay shipping, V.A.T. & V.R.T. but it still works out cheaper. :stumped:

V.A.T. = Value Added Tax.:crying: V.R.T. = Vehicle Reg Tax. :crying:
