AVON tyres
Had about 8000 miles on the Venom R's, loved them still loads of tread, front and rear. Started the big trip in June noticed a slight wobble on the steering, checked all the usual causes mentioned on forum's nothing found, wobble got worse, still no obvious cause, so continued journey, bike handled well.
After about 800 miles the rear tyre showed signs of deforming and sudden rapid wear/overheating, the plys had separated but no loss of pressure. Avon a have asked me to get in touch after the frame check, so they can fix me up with a new set with their compliments, as I had to fit a D250 on the rear in Italy, non other available.
They realize that all makers have had some problems with GL1800 tyres and seem to take on that, and wishto improve their product.
I'll keep you posted on the performance of th new tyres.
