There are speakers already there in the passenger arm rests, some of those wires are for those. The harness on the right also has wires for the remote trunk lock. Not sure which side has the spoiler brake light wires.

 

Crazzyrman, Reroute those wires to prevent a sharp bend at the hinge area. We just had a broken wire (for the remote trunk lock) on my friends 2009 GL1800. We rerouted the wires to prevent it from happening again. There have been a few known problems with broken wires at the hinge areas.

 

were would I reroute them to?

 

....or should I try to get the dealer to replace the bundle before my extended warranty runs out in July?

You paid for the warranty so why not use it?
It seems like a no brainer to me.:?

 

I was planning to try, but the warranty specifically says it doesn't cover the radio & I have already had other mechanical failures that they denied saying "exposure to the elements" which also is on the not covered list.


I never use the remote, its safe in the house with the spare key, I just use the key in the lock just like my gl1500s.

 

Here3's how I did my 06 about 7 yrs ago. Been fine since.

 

I like that, I couldn't figure out a way that I liked better than it already was.
