Had a charging problem with my Gold Wing and thought it might be the voltage regulator. I took the alternator apart and found that one of the brushes was stuck in the brush holder. A bit of spray solvent fixed it right up. I also installed a LED battery monitor light in the left dash. Now at a glance I can see if I have 14 volts or better comming from the alternator.
