Oh yeah, you'll get some real nonpartisian answers to that question in this group!
Seriously though, My friend has anST1300 that I have ridden, Yes it feels lighter and I would say handles more nimbly. Definatly stiffer suspension which I prefer. But when it came time to go to americade in Ny state he showed up on his Gl1500. It's really just what you prefer. I think each bike is better at certain things, because really they were designed with different, although similiar purposes in mind. Decide what type of riding you do most, and what features and handling traits you prefer. Better yet tell the wife you need to buy one of each until you can figure this out. You may end up with two great bikes.
