At one time I recall someone telling me that it was really easy to replace the disc brake pads on the 82 GL1100 Aspencade.

Is this true?

Can it be done without removing the rear tire?

I checked the book I downloaded from here but it dod not talk about replacing the pads.

Need rear pads replaced soooooon....!

Done it myself. Left saddlebag has to come off. And I replaced the brake bleeder valves with Speed Bleeders (speedbleeder.com). Easy to do. But half the time when you're replacing the pads you may find that other things need servicing - like the calipers.
