hi wingers

i'm looking for a colour schematic of
the honda goldwing gl1200 interstate (de)uxe, 1984.
i've obtained the gl1200 standard, thank
you. it doesn't match up colorwise!

can anyone advise me about this please?
the p.o's (14!) have not treated this
old gal with tlc. the wiring is a joke!
it looks like 3 year olds have been
twisting pipe cleaners. adding the wrong
color wire, twisting them together?
cutting, splicing into oem wires
and connected household wires, no matching
colors here! this is a great challenge
to following, correcting and working fully.
all the bikes electrics. i just need to
find the gl1200 interstate (de)luxe 1984
schematic.

i've now got the title document back.
it was manufactured in late nov. 84.
could it be classed as an 1985 for
the wiring diagram please?

many thanks for your cummulative
help wingers!

regards

angel

The mirrors on the fairing are different 84 to 85-87 but from your pictures the origanal mirrors are missing.

The tag on the steering neck should state the model year and date of manufacture.
looking for a gl1200 1984 interstate wiring schematic

hi ken!

thanks for your reply!

the chassis/frame no.is:

SC14E2429600

It has a stamp on the frame 'made in America!'

Could you possibly send me a scanned
copy of any GL1200 color schematics
you've please! I do have the Standard
one, this is not correct for my bike.
At the rear of the bike exists a three
pin plug, the colors are brown, green
and yellow and green. I can't see this
plug on the Standard wiring schematic.

My email address is:-

[email protected]

Many thanks Ken!

Angel :)

ps: thanks for the observation
on the wing mirrors, so mine are
wrong? does yours have indicators
on the ends of the mirrors?
cheers buddy!

There were no indicators on the mirrors of any GL1200.

Until we know what year your bike is it's hard to help as there were many changes after the 84.

And no I will not send you pirated wiring diagrams.
As I said get a manual, the Honda manual is best. The wiring diagrams in the Clymer manual although colourful are next to useless. I don't have a Haynes manual for the GL1200 but from the few I seen for other vehicles they're not worth the paper they're printed on.
