GoPro adhesive strength

Does anyone have any experience mounting a GoPro on their mirror of an 1800? How relaible is the adhesive? How easy is it to take the mount off when I'm done riding, and is there a sticky residue left where the mount was?
I had it mounted on my left crash bar but I didn't like the engine noise so I'm looking for an alternative location.

I don't have gopro but have action pro. Basically same thing. I used one of the helmet mounts and put it on my windshield at very bottom in the middle. That way camera see's the same as you. No problems with mount but don't know bout residue. Usually you can just roll 3M tape off. Hope this helps.
I would not mount it on a painted surface. I put one on top of my helmet once, that mount is never coming off with that said, I doubt the glues residue will either.
Whatever magic tape GoPro uses it sure sticks better than anything else that I have used. I wouldn't like to see what happens when you try and get it off!
Well I won't be putting it on my mirror. Thanks for that advice.
I'll see if I can get it to fit on my windscreen. It didn't seem to be facing up enough when i looked at it in that location but I'll try again tonight.
Thanks folks.
I have a new white series which I have stuck on my helmet. It looks dorky but works really well except when I do shoulder checks, you don't realise how quickly you swing around to check out potential danger.
I want to stay away from the helmet mount because I have a modular helmet and I use it.
I currently have an Rjays that doesn't flip right over as in my avatar it all just works perfectly. My new helmet flips all the way over to allow a totally open face.

Also shows when there is a pretty girl in your view as well.............. :ssshh:
My helmet flips all the way over to allow full face riding. I like having the option of either style.
