Got mine close to being done too!

Bought the Harbor Freight utility trailer. And extended the tongue. Added a piece of angle iron to make up for moving the center brace forward by a foot. Slapped on a plywood deck, bolted on an old tread plate tool box fitted with GoldWing latches, built a plywood box to go on it, used a piano hinge for the lid and the old latches from the tool box.

Here are some pics. Ad as can bee seen by the pictures for those who would think otherwise I am indeed using properly installed and properly attached safety chains.

I know te one running light is hanging half off. That is because the crew had to come out in order to get the box off. I plan on moving the running lights to eliminate this problem.

It's still a work in progress but it functional now. Along the way i intend to build another box that will convert into a shelter for sleeping when camping.

½inch I will be painting it once I get more paint. The box is 18.5 cubic feet.

With the cargo box on the lid wouldn't open on the tread plate box. SO i took the hinges and latches off and used GW latches on the ends of it. Unlock the latches and lift the lid straight off. Going to pick up a spool of aluminum wire to have the holes all welded shut. Then some weather stripping to put around the lid for to make it all nice and water tight.

Going to use weather stripping for the cargo box as well.

I have a junk set of saddle bags that i am thinking about making fenders out of. I think that would look pretty cool.
