06 to 08 service DVD. It has the service manual, owners manual, parts catalog, electrical troubleshooting manual and some how to videos on major components.
From helm inc. $66 total.

I guess I should have left that last part out.

Hey Dave,

While this is a really nice gesture, it may be opening the doors for some copyright issues.

Not trying to be a stick in the mud but...I'd hate to see either of you jammed up over it.

Yes, I thought about that but then I wonder where he got the rest of them. I hope the FBI has better things to do than mess with this poor country boy for pirating one DVD.

They would look at the 23,000 members that might download it. Like Broke says "We wouldn't want to see you or MacLean in trouble."

The old manuals which aren't available any more, probably no one cares.

a current one, ummmm. Dunno if that is worth the risk.

I know the CDMOTO files aren't much of a risk seeing as how the guy who initially sold them pirated the data in them to begin with and has since ceased support for them and gone out of business.

I just got the sameDVD yesterday. It is very nice. Even has some videos.

I suspect that HELM, who has pretty deep pockets, would sig their lawyer on that one. Just my guess.

That reminds me of a localstory here. There is a small local bar that was named "Mickey Mouse Inn". They had T-shirts printed. One of their patrons wore one to Disneyland. Their lawyers filed a suit and made them change the name. It is now the "Mouse Inn". It cost them legal fees as well. Messing with people with a lot of money in not always wise. They may come after you just to make an example.

While I see your point about helping each other there are a few things to consider. Not to mention the legality.

A company, like Helm, has invested much time and money into publishing that manual. This work is done by employees who have jobs, and probably health care and retirement benefits.

The sale of these products is used to pay for that. Yes, God forbid, but the owners do make a profit. If the disk is made available for free over the internet and the company does not make a profit on the sales how is it to stay in business. If it starts to lose money, people, like you and I, will be laid off. That's not HELPING people.

While there is a lot of hate towards corporation, consider that they still employ a LOT of people. Do we really all want to work for the government. That’s what will happen if corporations are destroyed. That’s how the old Russia worked. Not many could afford motorcycles or cars there.

Well I have reconsidered and will not be sharing this info with the rest of the forum. ccsial, your comments sealed the deal. You are correct, if companies make money they employ people and everyone benefits, not just the company and not even just their employees, everyone. I make money, I spend money and just maybe I spend it where you work and help you or your employer make money and in turn you spend money and so on. I realized that by trying to be generous I could have been hurting someones livelihood indirectly. I wasn't really worried about the legal aspect but there could have been a problem with that too.
If any of you need technical advise on 06-08 1800s I am here to help.
