Hey it was a 500 mile round trip,13.5 hours and a great lunch at some place in Michigan. All you can eat BBQ ribs. We just couldn't pass up the sign. After all everyone gos the other Sturgis it's so passe' any more. This way I avoid the crowds.
Left at 6AM took about 13 hours total. Most of the route was two lane road so it wasn't that fast. We also took a long lunch break. Only spent a little time on the Interstate to get in and out of Chicago. Or max on the Highways was about 75 but there are lots of little towns on the route and theyn slow you down.
bye the way I plotted the route using my blackberry phone with a free application that I downloaded from GPS Snitch. http://gps-snitch.com/
Sturgis Michigan is real. I was told today that there is another Sturgis out in South Dakota or someplace like that. I heard that one is very crowded. This one was great No one there at all. I don't think we saw another bike there.
